Whilst in the Old City, I met by chance the local Greek Orthodox Priest who introduced himself as Fr. Andrew! Though his Church was damaged and icons stolen by the terrorists, his is one of the few Churches in the Old City that was not destroyed. Nearby, next to the Secondary school, lie the remains of Homs’s newspapers Printing Headquarters. This too was destroyed by the terrorists. Isn’t there an echo somewhere in the actions of destroying schools, Churches and printing presses, as practised by these ‘moderate rebels’ that the West supports, and whose departure the BBC was lamenting a few weeks ago?
