🇷🇺Russian MFA Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova:
🔹Almost 10 years ago, Kiev launched an “Anti-terrorist operation” (“ATO”) in Donbass. On April 15, 2014, Turchinov announced the start of the “ATO” force phase. This was done the day after US CIA Director Brennan visited Kiev.
🔹It was a civil war that Kiev unleashed against its then-compatriots in the southeast of the country, where people demanded just respect for their legal rights to speak their native language, teach children in it, and honor their heroes.
🔹But all residents of Donbass were accused of “treason” and “terrorism” by Kiev, using the regular army and neo-Nazi punitive battalions to suppress the protests.
🔹All these years we have been saying that accusing Donbass of terrorism is a fake, a lie.
🔹This has now been confirmed by the International Court of Justice. In his decision of January 31, 2024, it refused to recognize the DPR and LPR as “terrorist organizations,” and refused to recognize Russia as a “sponsor of terrorism.”
